A 4 GENERATION FAMILY TRADITION OF FOUNDRYMEN
FONDERIE CONTY
It all began with HENRI GENESTIER, a true master moulder and foundryman, whose talent and determination were the foundations of the family foundry. Over the years, the foundry's legacy was proudly carried on by his son, GEORGE GENESTIER.
George led a double existence: in the mornings, he exercised his talents at Citröen in Paris, working in a renowned foundry. In the afternoons, he devoted himself entirely to his own foundry, where he continued the family tradition with passion. Despite the difficulties and upheavals caused by the Second World War, George never gave up on his dream. He reopened the Excelsior foundry in Vincennes, carrying on the family legacy and contributing to post-war reconstruction.
GÉRARD GENESTIER, George's son, who grew up imbued with a love of the trade and the family business. Alongside his father, he worked hard to develop the foundry. But it was with his own son, JEROME GENESTIER, that the company experienced a new dynamic. Together, they chose to perpetuate the family history by settling in Conty, in the Somme region, where they founded Société Industrielle de Conty in 1993.
In Conty, the passion for foundry work has found a new home. SIC has established itself as a symbol of quality and craftsmanship, offering made-to-measure metal parts to a wide range of customers. Each creation bears the mark of four generations of expertise, embodying an ongoing commitment to excellence.
Today, the Genestier family foundry continues to thrive, preserving a heritage begun decades ago in the mountains of Haute-Saône. Their story is one of a family united by a shared passion for perseverance, innovation and dedication to a craft that defies the test of time.
